Products

Q. How are the designs created?

All designs are created by hand using acrylic paints and traditional mediums on paper or canvas. Each piece is intentionally crafted with detail, expression, and meaning.

Once complete, the artwork is carefully digitized and refined so it can be translated across products while preserving its texture, depth, and originality.

Q. What kind of ink do you use?

For sublimation products, our manufacturer uses Mimaki Dye Sublimation Ink Sb411 and Sawgrass SubliJet HD ink, both Oeko-Tex™ certified. Some products may also use MYSUBLI-E Sublimation Transfer Ink, depending on the facility.

Q. How should I clean the stainless steel tumblers?

Hand-wash only is recommended. Dishwashers are not advised due to the vacuum seal.

Q. Can the shoes be washed?

Machine washing is not recommended to preserve quality.

If needed, gently hand-wash with cold water only. Avoid brushes, bleach, and harsh detergents. If machine washing is used, wash cold with similar colors and air dry.

Q. Can I wash the backpacks, crossbody bags, or fanny packs?

These items should be hand-washed only, without bleach or brushes.

Do not machine wash, tumble dry, dry clean, or iron on high heat. If needed, use low heat only.

Q. Why are your products made on demand?

Each piece is created only after an order is placed, ensuring nothing is produced without purpose.

This approach reduces overproduction and waste while allowing every item to be made intentionally for its owner—rather than being mass-produced or stored as excess inventory.

Q. Why are your products limited?

Each item is created with intention, making it naturally limited and unique.

Because everything is made on demand, you are receiving something thoughtfully produced rather than mass-produced in bulk.

Q. Why do you add sales tax at checkout?

Sales tax is automatically calculated based on your shipping address and applied at checkout in accordance with local tax laws.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards, along with any payment options shown at checkout.

Q: When am I charged for a custom order?

Payment is processed at the time of purchase so we can begin your design and production process.

Q. Are the packaging materials sustainable?

We are committed to ongoing improvement in sustainability.

Packaging varies by product and fulfillment location but often includes post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials, kraft mailers, or cardboard boxes. PCR packaging helps reduce environmental impact while maintaining product protection.

We continue to explore more sustainable options as part of our long-term process.

Q. Are the packaging materials recyclable?

Yes, depending on the material:

  • PCR plastic mailers (LDPE #4): Recyclable at designated drop-off locations (not always curbside)

  • Kraft mailers & cardboard boxes: Fully recyclable in standard paper recycling streams

We recommend checking with your local recycling provider for proper disposal guidance.

Custom Design Process

Each custom design is a collaborative journey created with intention, care, and meaning.

Design phase: Typically 2–3 weeks, depending on complexity.

During this time, I will create your design and provide check-ins so we can refine the direction together. You will also receive updates throughout the process so you always know what stage your piece is in.

How the process works

  • I review your vision and inspiration

  • I begin hand-creating your custom design

  • I check in with you for feedback along the way

  • We refine the design together as needed

  • Once finalized, your artwork moves into production

I do ask for creative freedom within the process, as it allows the artwork to fully develop through my artistic style while staying aligned with your vision. You are always welcome to share inspiration or reference existing designs from my current work.

Good to know

Not sure what you want yet?
That’s completely okay. Many custom pieces begin with just a feeling, idea, or inspiration. You don’t need a fully formed concept—I will help guide the creative direction with you.

Will I see the design before it is finalized?
Yes. You will receive check-ins for feedback so you can help guide the direction before the final design is completed and moved into production.

This is a shared creative process, and communication helps everything flow smoothly. Occasionally, timelines may gently shift if feedback or responses are delayed, but you will always be kept informed along the way.

Q: What does the custom design process look like?

After you place your order, the process flows in simple, intentional stages:

  • I review your vision and inspiration

  • I begin hand-creating your custom design

  • I check in with you during the process for feedback

  • We refine the design together as needed

  • Once finalized, your artwork moves into production

You will be kept updated throughout so you always know what stage your piece is in.

Q: Will I see or approve the design before it is finalized?

Yes. You will receive check-ins during the design process so you can provide feedback and help guide the direction of your piece.

Once the design has been refined and finalized through this collaborative process, it will move into production.

Q: What if I’m not sure what I want yet?

That’s completely okay—many custom pieces begin with just an idea, feeling, or inspiration rather than a fully formed concept.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before ordering. I will help guide the creative direction based on what you share, along with styles and designs already within my work.

Production & Shipping

Once your design is finalized, your order moves into production.

  • Production & fulfillment: Typically 2–4 weeks depending on the product

  • After production, your order is carefully packaged and shipped directly to you

Most orders are completed within 4–7 weeks total (approximately 1–2 months from start to delivery).

Because each item is made-to-order and fulfilled through different production partners, timelines may vary slightly.

If you need your order by a specific date, please reach out before placing your order so I can confirm whether it can be accommodated.

Order Transparency

You will receive updates throughout the process so you always know where your order stands—from design to production to shipping. My goal is for you to feel informed, supported, and connected to the creation of your piece.

Shipping

Q. Are all products in an order shipped together?

Some items are individually packaged for protection and may ship separately.

This includes hats, backpacks, and drinkware such as mugs and tumblers. Additionally, orders may be fulfilled across multiple facilities, resulting in separate shipments.

Q. What if I only received part of my order?

Items may arrive separately depending on fulfillment location or carrier timing.

If you have concerns, please contact: kaylarose@velvetrosestudios.com with your order number.

Q. Where will my order ship from?

Shoes are manufactured in China, while other products are made in the USA.

Each piece is custom produced through trusted manufacturing partners to bring the design to life with care and consistency.

Q. When will I receive my order?

Production typically takes 3–7 days, followed by shipping times that vary by product:

  • Shoes: 18–23 business days

  • Tumblers: 5–8 business days

  • Bags: 9–12 business days

Shoes take longer due to their made-to-order production process and overseas fulfillment.

Q. My order hasn’t arrived—what should I do?

Before reaching out, please:

  • Confirm your shipping address

  • Check with your local post office

  • Ask neighbors if the package was delivered nearby

If your order still cannot be located, contact: kaylarose@velvetrosestudios.com with your order number.

Returns

Q. What is your return policy?

Because each piece is made specifically for you, we do not offer returns or exchanges.

However, if there is an issue with your order, please reach out—I will always do my best to make it right.

Q. Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are only issued for incorrect or damaged items.

If this happens, please email kaylarose@velvetrosestudios.com with photos, your order number, and details.

Q. Can I exchange an item for a different size or color?

Exchanges are not available due to the made-to-order process.

Shoes are designed to fit true to standard canvas sizing. We recommend selecting your usual size in similar footwear. We do not offer wide sizes at this time. If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up for comfort.

Q. What if I received the wrong order?

If an item arrives incorrect or mislabeled, please contact us within 7 days at kaylarose@velvetrosestudios.com with your order number and photos. A replacement or refund will be provided.
